Sony Music has tapped director Adam McKay, actor David Tennant and several other personalities for podcasts as it looks to build out its audio offerings.
The record label revealed Wednesday during the IAB Podcast Upfronts that it plans to release nearly 40 new shows this year. Among them are two projects from McKay, including one that will look at the historical and political forces that defined basketball in the 1980s and another with YouTube creator Ari Cagan.
Meanwhile, Tracy Clayton and Akoto Ofori-Atta will host music show My 90s Playlist, and NFL sideline reporter Lindsay Czarniak will host a music and sports podcast that’s set to debut in 2021.
