Scots teen 'nearly choked' on Cadbury's Caramel Nibbles wrapped in white string

A Scots chocoholic almost choked on a piece of string wrapped inside a 'clump' of Caramel Nibbles. Amanda Kolatkiewicz, 17, had picked up a packet of her favourite chocolate from Asda Peterhead, Aberdeenshire on Sunday evening.

The teenager, who lives in the town, was tucking into one of the caramel-filled bites when she claims a piece of chocolate and string got stuck down her throat.She was horrified when she looked at the chocolate and realised a clump of white string was sticking out of the melted sweet treats.She told the Record: "I'd only gone into Asda for bin bags for my mum but Nibbles are my favourite chocolate so picked up a packet."My friend Ellie, 18, and I parked up to have a snack."I didn't think anything of the chocolate clump, I thought I had gotten a big bit so I took a bite."All of a sudden I started coughing, I could tell something was sticking in my throat."I was laughing at first but then I started choking."Ellie helped me pull it out, and we realised the piece was completely wrapped in string."Left shaken, Amanda complained to Cadbury's.Pictures and video taken by Amanda show the size of the chocolate lump and what looks like string wrapped around it."It was so scary," she added."I wanted to share on social media because small children could have eaten them."I'll never eat anything Cadbury's again.""I complained to Cadbury's the next morning but haven't heard back."A Mondelez spokesperson said: "The safety and quality of our products are of paramount importance to us."All manufacturing sites adhere to strict measures and are routinely inspected."We will investigate this matter and take whatever action appropriate."
