Major retailers have issued urgent warnings not to eat specific products due to health and safety concerns. Sainsbury's, Iceland, Waitrose and Co-op has produced a list of the latest items customers should return at once.

The Food Standards Agency regularly issues 'Product Withdrawal Information Notices' and 'Product Recall Information Notices' to let consumers and local authorities know about problems associated with food.

Problems with food products mean they should not be sold, then it might be 'withdrawn' (taken off the shelves) or 'recalled' (when customers are asked to return the product).Liverpool Echo have rounded up the product recalls from August.
