Harry Maguire phoned Gareth Southgate to try and persuade him to reinstate him to the England squad.The Manchester United captain has appealed against his conviction by a Greek court after continually pleading his innocence.After initially being named in the Three Lions squad for the upcoming Nations League games against Iceland and Denmark, Southgate axed the defender later that day after he was found guilty of all charges.The 27-year-old was found guilty of bribery, aggravated assault and resisting arrest while on holiday in Mykonos.But the England boss had another tough decision to make after Maguire phoned to ask to be reinstated to the squad.It is claimed Southgate was urged by members of his coaching staff to reinstate the defender.
