A rough sleeper has received praise after using his sleeping bag to catch a baby from a burning building, after his parents lowered him down to save him from the fire.
Jason Barry caught the baby who was thrown to safety from a first floor window at the scene of a house fire. He successfully caught the toddler, saving it from serious injury after one of his parents dangled him from the building in a bid to save him as flames engulfed the property.
A fire crew was called to the scene of the incident, which started in the first floor kitchen of a three storey terraced building by a cooking appliance.
