A mum and daughter were left with horrific 2nd and 3rd degree burns after they were both engulfed by a fireball exploding from a gas grill.
Kate Collins, 40, from Perth, Australia, and her five-year-old daughter, Eva, were at a friend’s for a BBQ in April 2019 – but never knew that day would leave them scarred for life.
Kate’s friend was refilling an ethanol burner into the gas grill but the liquid caught fire and exploded into a fireball. The pair were rushed to hospital and sustained both 2nd and 3rd degree burns.
Kate had injuries to her legs, face and hands and her daughter Eva suffered more damage with burns covering nearly 20% of her body, including her face, abdomen, chest and left arm.
