Robin van Persie may have helped Manchester United to the Premier League title in his debut season at Old Trafford, but a poor season under Louis van Gaal saw him brutally kicked out of the club with little consideration.
Despite the duo working together with the Netherlands national team, Van Gaal took no prisoners when preparing for his second season as Red Devils boss, with Van Persie failing to make the cut.
Following two impressive seasons after his £22.5m move from Arsenal, the former Feyenoord forward was unceremoniously told that his time at the club would be coming to an end, despite his contract not up for expiration.
