Peter Schmeichel admits he remains baffled that Manchester United allowed Jonny Evans to leave, especially as Sir Alex Ferguson pinpointed him as a future club captain when he was at Old Trafford.
The Northern Irishman came through the ranks at United, but was sold to West Brom in 2015. He now plays his football for high flying Leicester and has established himself at the heart of the defence.
United, for all their attacking prowess, have been criticised for a lack of solidity at the back. A new centre-half is thought to be on the shortlist this summer, but Schmeichel, who sees Evans as a "natural born leader", never felt the defender got a fair shot at things.
