Louis van Gaal has explained how Ed Woodward and Ed Woodward alone was behind his Manchester United sacking. The Dutch great took over at Old Trafford in 2014, the season after David Moyes crashed and burned in the hotseat.

In his first term, Van Gaal guided United back into the Champions League with a fourth-place finish. But in his second season the former Holland boss struggled, guiding United to fifth.

He did lead them to FA Cup glory but by this point it was too late. As fans walked down Wembley Way news of Jose Mourinho waiting in the wings had emerged.

Sure enough, two days later Van Gaal was sacked and Mourinho was subsequently appointed as United boss. But Van Gaal believes there was no foul play on Mourinho's part and that it
