Real Madrid scuppered their own Kylian Mbappe transfer plan as they produced an incredible comeback to dump PSG out of the Champions League. The Spanish giants looked to be headed for elimination themselves with Mbappe proving to be a thorn in their side over the two-legged tie. After netting a stoppage-time winner in France last month, the 23-year-old scored the opening goal of the second-leg at the Santiago Bernabeu too. However, a Karim Benzema hat-trick saw Real overturn the two-goal deficit and progress to the quarter-finals at PSG's expense. In the process, they also reportedly forced a change in their summer approach for Mbappe. That's because The Telegraph claimed pre-match that Real were set to formalise an offer for him should they be eliminated. They enquired about signing him last summer but were swiftly turned down by PSG, who believed they could get their starlet to renew his contract. However, that has not materialised in the months since and he will be a free agent upon the expiry of his deal come the end of the season. Do Real need to sign Mbappe?
