His two goals to inspire Wales to a thrilling 2-1 win over Austria in Cardiff included a stunning free-kick that was more than good enough to grace the Bernabeu.
It was quite a message to send back to the Spanish capital, where Bale has played just two hours of football in six months. Given the fact Real got smashed by bitter rivals Barcelona last weekend, it's hard to believe Carlo Ancelotti cannot find a role for Bale somewhere in his team or squad.
