Priyanka Chopra Jonas apologised for promoting skin-lightening cream. At the time, the actress was branded a hypocrite for calling out racism in the Black Lives Matter movement after she had advertised skin-lightening creams with Ponds and Garnier.
Now the Miss World 2000 pageant, 38, gave fans a "sincere" apology for promoting the products as she "can't go back and change" what she did.
Priyanka referred to the adverts as a "misstep" in her high-flying career in her new book Unfinished. She wrote: "I can't go back and change what I did, but I can apologise, and I do so sincerely." In the Ponds advert, Priyanka loses her man as a dark-skinned woman to a love rival who has lighter skin.
