Marcus Rashford (born 31 October 1997) is an English professional footballer who plays as a forward for Premier League club Manchester United and the England national team.
A Manchester United player from the age of seven, he scored two goals on both his first-team debut against Midtjylland in the UEFA Europa League in February 2016 and his Premier League debut against Arsenal three days later.
He also scored in his first Manchester derby match, his first EFL Cup match and his first UEFA Champions League match. With United, Rashford has so far won the FA Cup, EFL Cup, FA Community Shield and UEFA Europa League.
Jamie Carragher have shared their contrasting views on how Manchester United should deal with Marcus Rashford’s poor form of late.
The winger has scored four goals and assisted two so far this season, though those tallies mask how some of his performances have fallen well below the expectation for a player of his quality.Rashford has looked out of confidence this season, with his displays lacking the pace and punch that they once had.
But with Mason Greenwood unavailable and Anthony Martial out on loan, Ralf Rangnick has consistently given Rashford the opportunity to change his fortunes.
Speaking to CBS Sports, former Liverpool defender Carragher has called for Rashford to be dropped, he said: “Rashford's been in this team since he was a kid, he's come on and burst onto the scene.“He's got goals and always threatened to go onto that next level that top players get to - and he's not there yet.
