Premier League clubs have been put on red alert by Borussia Dortmund as Mario Gotze’s exit this summer was confirmed. The German won the World Cup for his country in 2014 by scoring a volley against Argentina in stoppage time.
After leaving Dortmund for Bayern Munich in 2013, Gotye returned to the Westfalenstadion in 2016, making more than 100 appearances for the Bundesliga side.
But Jadon Sancho’s impressive form has pushed the 27-year-old out of the starting line-up. And Dortmund’s director of football Michael Zorc confirmed the German would be leaving the Black and Yellows when his contract ends this summer.
