Ayr dad jailed for golf club attack on man following sleeping baby row

A father who whacked a man with a golf club after a row over a sleeping baby has been jailed for more than five years. Martin Jackson was angry at the noise Steven Beggs and his friends were making outside his home in Ayr on June 28, 2019.

Prosecutor William Frain-Bell earlier told how police turned up at Jackson's home in Ayr after his partner reported he had been assaulted.

Jackson stated to officers: "I'll be honest – I hit the guy because he came at me with a golf club."He later insisted he was "sorry"
