Police have warned that random checks will be conducted on people out in public this weekend to make sure lockdown rules are not being flouted.
Merseyside Police urged people to stay at home this weekend and only leave for an essential need. The government is expected to announce how it plans to ease lockdown measures on Sunday, however ministers have also warned that the current measures will not change until Monday at the earliest.
Officers will be conducting random checks on vehicles and speaking to people out in public this weekend, according to the Merseyside force.
