Renfrewshire’s wildlife police officer has called on the public to dial 999 if they see the gang in action.Last Friday, bystanders watched as the gang sent three lurchers after a roe deer.The hounds - traditionally a poacher’s favourite - chased the terror-struck animal across open ground.It happened on Clevans Road, near Ranfurly Castle Golf Club.The dogs caught up with the deer and killed it.In a second incident earlier last month the same men were seen with three lurchers in fields off Bridesmill Road, in Kilbarchan.The three are all in their 20s and it’s thought they were hare coursing.Other sightings of the gang say the lurchers are held by string rather than a proper lead.PC Eilidh O’Hanlon, the force’s wildlife officer, is leading.
