direct to your inboxThe Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) is calling for witnesses after a teenage boy was struck down by a police car in Stockport and left fighting for his life.
The crash happened at around 9.30pm on Boxing Day in Garners Lane as officers were responding to reports of a domestic disturbance.
A 15-year-old boy suffered a serious head injury and was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition, the IOPC said today (January 4).The incident was referred to both GMP's internal watchdog and the IOPC.
The driver of the police vehicle has since been suspended from driving police vehicles pending the outcome of the investigation.
