EastEnders are lining up a couple to get wed in an upcoming episode of the BBC soap, and it will coincide with a visit from a popstar. Olly Alexander - best known as the frontman of band Years and Years - will be joining the soap for a one-off episode prior to his appearance in the Eurovision Song Contest where he’ll be performing his song ‘Dizzy’. Olly will stop in at the Queen Vic after rehearsing where he meets an old friend Johnny Carter (played by Charlie Suff).

EastEnders spoilers see Jade Masood’s (Elizabeth Green) health continue to deteriorate thanks to her dad - and Martin Fowler (James Bye) catches two people sharing a shock kiss. Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) continues to walk on eggshells around Denise Fox (Diane Parish) but it’s Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) who encourages Denise to get her marriage back on track and suggests a BBQ to bring the family together. Jack gets Stacey alone where she tells him he needs to be there for Denise.

Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) faced more agony in recent EastEnders scenes, as the day of Janine Butcher’s (Charlie Brooks) sentencing dawned. The Queen Vic landlady has been struggling to cope with the loss of childhood sweetheart Mick Carter (Danny Dyer), after his disappearance on Christmas day. Having dived into the sea to save Linda, following a car chase that saw her and Janine drive over the edge of a cliff, he was assumed dead when he failed to resurface.

EastEnders actress Gillian Wright has undergone surgery after breaking her wrist following a nasty fall during her pantomine show this week.The 62-year-old has told fans she is "devastated" to have had to pull out of her stint.Gillian got through rehearsals and the opening night of Snow White at the Central Theatre, Chatham, despite being in a sling, but can no longer go on.Chris Jordan, managing director of Jordan Productions, told Kent Online: "Like the trooper she is, Gill managed to get through the last week of rehearsals and the opening night of the panto whilst in a sling and a certain amount of discomfort."No one knew the extent of the injury until she came out of surgery, and we were all shocked to hear that the break was worse than anyone had thought."Obviously, Gill’s health and wellbeing is paramount so, whilst we are sorry that she can’t return to the show, we wish her a speedy recovery over the next few weeks and send her all our love."More to follow...

Coronation Street's Elle Mulvaney certainly turned heads on Monday night as she put on a very leggy display at the 2022 Inside Soap Awards held at London's 100 Wardour Street. The actress, 20 - who plays Amy Barlow in the ITV soap - wowed in a black gown featuring a daring thigh-high split as she graced the red carpet for the glitzy awards ceremony.  Elle looked sensational as she showed off plenty of leg in the showstopping dress, which she teamed with a pair of white heeled mules.

EastEnders and Emmerdale dominate the winners (winning five and four awards respectively), with EastEnders' Lacey Turner scooping the All-Time Icon award, while her onscreen mother Gillian Wright was awarded Best Actress. Elsewhere, Neighbours bowed out after 37 years with a final two accolades following its axe, bagging the Best Daytime Star for Stefan Dennis (Paul Robinson) and Best Daytime Soap. Lacey who portrays Stacey Slater in the BBC soap looked delighted as she posed with her prize, her seventh Inside Soap Award she's collected over the years.

The TV Choice Awards 2022 shortlist has been announced and Bridgerton is in the lead, with the Netflix drama in the running for three accolades after its well-received second season came out earlier in the year. The drama is nominated alongside Outlander and Death In Paradise for Best Drama Series. Jodie Comer is up for Best Actress in Killing Eve and This Is Going To Hurt's Ben Whishaw is hoping for the Best Actor prize.
