Jean Slater has been secretly struggling in the wake of her cancer potentially returning on EastEnders. Stacey's mum, played by Gillian Wright, was left devastated on Christmas Day after discovering a lump on her breast.

Rather than tell her family, she organised with the hospital to get it checked out. But when she attended her appointment at the doctors on Monday this week, Jean began to panic about the prospect of her cancer being back.

While the doctor assured her not to worry until they had the results back from the biopsy, Jean had disappeared before she had been taken for her test.

Later on in the week, Jean decided to attend a party with Mo and she got talking to Iqra, who opened up about her worries about Ash.
