The SNP/Green Government has been called on to use the Scottish Budget to give every adult a £50 voucher to boost ailing high streets.Scottish Labour believes the cash should be spent in ‘bricks and mortar’ retail outlets - ruling out online giants like Amazon.
High streets were already in decline before the pandemic, but covid has piled extra pressure on well-known brands. With Finance Secretary Kate Forbes set to unveil her draft Budget on Thursday, Labour are calling for a £600m economic stimulus package.
