Motherwell chief Allan Burrows and St Mirren boss Jim Goodwin are my Men of the Year as 2021 draws to a close. Burrows gets his award for being a principled voice in a sea of self-gratification when it comes to matters like the decision to bring forward the winter break.His take on at least giving the fans of all clubs a chance to get back into grounds in numbers we recognise was that, ‘Closed doors should be the last resort and not the first option’.Succinct and to the point.He fights his corner for his club and when he’s in the game’s voting chamber he goes for what he believes to be in the best interests of the game.It’s an idea that’ll never catch on but you have to applaud the people who still hope it does.
