Piers Morgan shared a sweet message to his former Good Morning Britain presenter Kate Garraway as he praised her "courage and never-give-up spirit".The journalist told the 54-year-old to "keep battling" as she shared her family life in a new TV documentary, Caring For Derek which aired on Tuesday (February 22) evening.The ITV programme is a follow-on from her award-winning documentary Finding Derek last year, which saw her husband Derek return home from his year-long hospital stint after battling Covid.The virus left his organs damaged and needing around-the-clock care after being put into a medically induced coma.He has now been reunited with his children Darcey and William at home.Piers, 56, described the programme as "heart-rending television" as many fans admitted they were "already sobbing" just minutes into the show.Piers retweeted Kate's post which explained how "proud" she was of the ITV documentary.She wrote alongside a photo of the family of four at home: "So proud of the work the doc team & @itv have done to help Derek & I shine a light on the challenges of #LongCovid & caring for a loved one."I hope you find it helpful & do let me know what you think after watching tonight 9 pm & share your stories. #hope #TogetherWeCan."Kate, who took over Piers' long-running ITV show Life Stories last year, was praised by her former outspoken co-host.Piers said on Twitter: "This was such unbelievably heart-rending television."Keep battling, Kate - you and your remarkable family are a towering testament to the power of stoicism, courage & never-give-up spirit in the face of appalling adversity.
