Netflix has ushered in the festive season with another Christmas-themed romantic comedy.Directed by Jerry Ciccoritti, Hot Frosty follows Kathy (Lacey Chabert) who, while dealing with the death of her husband, magically brings a handsome snowman to life.The titular Hot Frosty is played by Dustin Milligan, who previously starred in 90210 and Schitt’s Creek. Bauhaus‘ Peter Murphy and Boy George have joined forces on an enchanting new single ‘Let The Flowers Grow’.Produced and co-written by Killing Joke‘s Youth, the duet – a grand orchestral pop piece – sees the two musicians sing “I’ve been changing / and mama don’t know / let her tears fall / and make the flowers grow,” serving as a message of hope and tolerance.According to a press release, ‘Let The Flowers Grow’ was originally written by the Culture Club frontman with its initial message being “one of personal acceptance about being gay.” As the song developed, it “took on a more expansive and universal scope with its lyrics extending beyond sexuality and embracing race, gender, creed and religion.”Speaking about the creation of the track, Murphy said: “I was recording my new album in Spain with Youth and, while listening to a playback of a song, I heard another piece of music coming from his mobile phone. It caught my ear for its melodic beauty as well as a Roy Orbison-like voice that was singing it.”After learning that the song was actually an unfinished demo written by Boy George, Murphy asked Youth if he could work on the partial song.

Her daughter Kelley Kerr confirmed the death in a social media post, writing, “Such sad news and what a great loss for the music industry. Anita was a legend in her time but first and foremost she was my mother. May you rest in peace. I will forever miss you but I am comforted in knowing that you are now singing with angels. You are forever in my heart.” Kerr’s vocal arrangement sound was considered a key component in the “countrypolitan” or “Nashville sound” era of country music, in which the music saw the addition of strings and background vocals, lending lusher elements to recordings by some of the genre’s top stars, perhaps most notably Patsy Cline and Jim Reeves. The smoother take on country lent itself to less rough-hewn crossover hits.

Jem Aswad Senior Music EditorBob Dylan’s share of the Traveling Wilburys has been acquired by Primary Wave Music — an asset that most people probably did not realize was not included in the Nobel Prize-winning artist’s nine-figure deals with Universal Music Publishing and Sony Music.Dylan’s master royalties and neighboring rights royalties for both of the group’s albums, as well as a 2007 box set, are included in the deal. Terms were not disclosed.The Wilburys were a supergroup comprised of Dylan, George Harrison, Tom Petty, Jeff Lynne and Roy Orbison, and released two albums filled with lighthearted, not-too-serious songs in contrast to their usually weighty work.
