New Line’s reboot of House Party, which was originally suppose to go to HBO Max, but was given a theatrical release, will now open on Jan. 13, 2023 rather than Dec. 9, 2022.

Kanye West taped an episode of The Shop, the HBO talk show starring LeBron James, that was deemed unbroadcastable after he repeated "hate speech and extremely dangerous stereotypes," SpringHill Company CEO Maverick Carter has told Andscape. Carter, who runs SpringHill alongside N.B.A. All-Star James and co-hosts the series, said he took full responsibility for welcoming Ye to the show during a period in which he has worn a T-shirt bearing the slogan "White Lives Matter" and been temporarily banned from both Instagram and Twitter for posting offensive messages, including a threat against Jewish people.

"The Shop" is executive produced by Maverick Carter and NBA star LeBron James.The producers decided against airing the episode, which was taped on Monday, or revealing West's comments. Kanye West recently gave an interview for an episode of The Shop – a talk show hosted by LeBron James and his business partner, Maverick Carter – however in the wake of the rapper’s recent controversies, that interview has been scrapped.In a statement shared with Andscape, Carter explained that West’s episode was shot very recently – the statement itself notes that it was taped “yesterday”, and the article was published on Tuesday (October 11), but it’s not clear exactly when the statement was given – with the rapper’s appearance on the show having been locked in several weeks earlier.“After talking to Kanye directly the day before we taped,” Carter said, “I believed he was capable of a respectful discussion and he was ready to address all his recent comments. Unfortunately, he used The Shop to reiterate more hate speech and extremely dangerous stereotypes.”As a result, West’s episode of The Shop was scrapped entirely, and no content from his interview will be made public. Carter went on to assure fans that while his show “embraces thoughtful discourse and differing opinions”, it and its team “have zero tolerance for hate speech of any kind and will never allow our channels to be used to promote hate”.In closing, he continued: “I take full responsibility for believing Kanye wanted a different conversation and apologize to our guests and crew. Hate speech should never have an audience.”In addition to West, the scrapped episode of The Shop was due to feature Jeezy – with whom West collaborated on the 2008 track ‘Put On’ – and shoe designer Salehe Bembury.

LeBron James, Spencer Beighley, Jamal Henderson, Marsai Martin, Joshua Martin and Timothy Bourne produce, while Maverick Carter and Jamila Jordan-Theus serve as executive producers.

Ellise Shafer Starz has ordered the pilot of an interview series hosted by Bronx rapper Fat Joe. Described as a “genre-busting series that blends interviews with celebrities and high-profile guests with an elevated documentary style format,” the untitled pilot will be executive produced by Sean “Diddy” Combs’ Revolt Studios and LeBron James’ SpringHill. “We’re about to create the biggest and most culturally-relevant series on television,” Fat Joe said in a press release. “With Puff, LeBron, the incredible team at Starz and myself teaming up, you have a dream team that is guaranteed to produce TV gold. Starz has given a pilot order for an interview series with a documentary-style format from Joseph “Fat Joe” Cartagena and Sean “Diddy” Combs to be produced by SpringHill (founded by LeBron James and Maverick Carter). Fat Joe will sit with celebrities and high-profile guests as the show’s host.
