GMB's Sean Fletcher describes how 'world fell apart' during son's heartbreaking OCD battle
Mental health is something that Sean Fletcher, 48, is incredibly passionate about following the struggles his own son Reuben experienced - which is why he has teamed up with GO Outdoors and Mind’s recent campaign #HatsOnForMind this winter. The Good Morning Britain presenter has joined ex-England goalkeeper David Seaman and fellow Countryfile stars Helen Skelton and Julia Bradbury to raise money for the mental health charity. Six years ago Sean’s family was in crisis, as the health of his teenage son deteriorated rapidly over a few weeks. Since getting his OCD diagnosis, Reuben has gone on to get mental health support and achieve amazing things, including securing a place at university. While things worked out ok for the Fletcher family, Sean has confessed how difficult he found it coming into work each morning and putting on a brave face. “I found it particularly tough when our son was ill and having to go on air, whether it's live programmes or pre-recorded programmes, and smile,” he remembered.“You know, a lot of the things I do, it’s not about me, it’s not about my problems.“You’ve got to leave all of the problems at home behind you, and then go on and smile - and that’s really hard when your world is falling apart at home. “I’m a bit of a smiler anyway - but it’s challenging,” he continued, “Because it’s not just smiling, you’ve got to be positive with things like breakfast telly.

Julia Bradbury admits worry that having kids later in life led to her breast cancer battle
George Clooney admits 'terrible mistake' he and Amal made with twins“I love motherhood and I think there are certain life skills you have more experience with when you're older,” she told The Sun.“But if you have your children later in life, that increases your risk of breast cancer.“So does being a tall woman, as does being extensively on the Pill.”As part of the same interview, the star also discussed how she has “reset” her lifestyle since her cancer diagnosis. She said being diagnosed with cancer and getting a mastectomy has made her focus on the things that are important in her life.“So the real focus for me is what I do have in life, the statistics are that one in two of us will get cancer in our lifetime,” she said.“It's made me reset and relook at my health, my lifestyle and my nutrition.”Julia went on to say she has made her health a top priority and now meditates every day.Additionally, she does breathing work and enjoys doing yoga, as she said her focus is now on “calming" activities, rather than rigorous exercises.Julia said she would be grateful to see her children grow up, and is doing her best to stay healthy after her cancer treatment was a success. The treatment included the removal of the 6cm tumour, two lymph glands and her left breast. She appeared in a documentary entitled: Julia Bradbury: Breast Cancer and Me, where she laid bare her deeply emotional journey.Featuring in a shoot for Woman&Home magazine, Julia previously said she is doing everything in her power to decrease the odds of her cancer returning.“I’m a positive person, and I'm trying to use my resilience and health to make a positive impact on my body.“My biggest motivation is staying alive for my children," the Countryfile star

Julia Bradbury worries that having children after age 40 increased her risk of breast cancer
Julia Bradbury has spoken on her fears that having children later down the line increased her risk of breast cancer. The presenter, 52, announced that she had been diagnosed with cancer in September last year, before undergoing a mastectomy one month later to have a 6cm tumour removed.Julia has been incredibly open about her experiences and fronted an ITV documentary about her battle with breast cancer, entitled Julia Bradbury: Breast Cancer and Me.The TV star was over the age of 40 when she had her kids – Zephyr, 11, and twins Xanthe and Zena, seven – with her twin daughters being born following five rounds of IVF with her husband.Julia and husband Gerard Cunningham went down the IVF path after she sought treatment for endometriosis, which can affect fertility.Despite the pride she feels about being a slightly older mother, Julia has shared her concerns that this was a contributing factor to her breast cancer. She told The Sun: ‘I love motherhood and I think there are certain life skills you have more experience with when you’re older.‘But if you have your children later in life, that increases your risk of breast cancer, so does being a tall woman, as does being extensively on the Pill.’According to the NHS, having children or having children later in life may ‘slightly increase’ your risk of developing breast cancer because ‘your exposure to oestrogen is not interrupted by pregnancy.’BreastCancer.org also explain that breast cancer risk reduction from pregnancy doesn’t kick in until about 20 years after a woman’s last pregnancy. They detail a study which found that women younger than 55 who had a full-term pregnancy had a slightly higher risk of developing breast cancer during the study.Taking the combined contraceptive
