Jamie Carragher blasts ex-team-mate Danny Murphy as he hits out at 'clickbait' claims
Jamie Carragher has hit back at former Liverpool team-mate Danny Murphy by slamming his "click bait" comments.The ex-England defender, 44, took issue with Murphy's analysis on TalkSport in which he called out Carragher for "looking for some excuses," following Liverpool's 4-1 thumping against Napoli in the Champions League on Wednesday night. Speaking to CBS after the game, Carragher seemed to question the Reds' summer recruitment strategy by asking "have Liverpool massively got the transfer ideas in the summer wrong, because this team is so far off and it has been at full pelt for five or six years?"READ MORE: Jamie Carragher warns Liverpool 'can't continue' with current tactic and 'have to adapt'Latching onto his analysis, Murphy, who spent seven seasons sharing the Anfield dressing room with Carragher, believed his ex-team-mate was "looking for some excuses" regarding Liverpool's poor form.Murphy added: "He [Carragher] is not looking at the obvious which is a simple mindset change and some of the players have become complacent.
