Learning to drive is not only a time commitment, but it can also be expensive and a recent survey from Marmalade Insurance suggested that almost half of instructors upped the price of lessons in 2022 as a direct result of the coronavirus pandemic and subsequent lockdowns.

It is estimated that around 40 per cent of instructors across the country have increased the price of lessons since the 2020.

The data also found that an average lesson costs around £31.15 - a nine per cent increase from the previous year, which was priced on average at £28.47.
