The 74-year-old was fishing on the banks of the River Mersey in Warrington on April 25 when he was 'fly-kicked' into the water and had to be rescued.

Benjamin Bridgeman, 18, and a 15-year-old boy who can’t be named for legal reasons, have pleaded guilty for their roles in the sickening assault.

The Court Prosecution Service (CPS) the man has been left 'aggressive, depressed' and reluctant to leave his house following the incident, the Liverpool Echo reports.
