One of Man Utd's top manager targets has walked away from all four jobs in his career

Manchester United managerial target Luis Enrique has walked away from all four of his previous jobs without ever facing the sack.The Spain boss, 51, is one of four names on the shortlist to take the reigns at Old Trafford at the end of the season when current United manager Ralf Rangnick goes upstairs to take on a consultancy role.

The interim boss signed a short-term deal in November and is not expected to be in the dugout for the 2022/23 campaign.Enrique boats an unblemished record as manager.

The former Barcelona boss has never been axed from any of his four previous posts, instead opting to walk away at the right moment.Replacing Pep Guardiola as manager of the Barcelona B team in 2008, the former forward helped win promotion to the Segunda Division in his second season - returning the club to the Spanish second-tier after an 11-year absence.

Leaving as manager with two years still remaining on his contract, Enrique guided Barca B to the play-offs in his final campaign but the club were ineligible for promotion.
