Paul Pogba has delivered some damaging performances since rejoining Manchester United for a club-record deal back in 2016.But the one he produced this week while not even in Manchester could prove to be the most destructive of the lot ahead of his impending departure from Old Trafford.
In a scathing if ironic attack on the fallen giants, Pogba has accused his club of being clueless when it comes to getting the best out of him.He might have a point considering Pogba has been nothing more significant than a French enigma since his much-heralded return to Manchester from Juventus five seasons ago.
Pogba's comeback was supposed to signal the start of United's domestic resurgence under then-boss Jose Mourinho.Instead, United have fallen further behind the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool, while Pogba has looked like a lost soul who regretted going back to his childhood club.
Pogba has not helped himself at times, with more carefree and undisciplined performances than frustrated supporters will care to remember.There have been the odd flashes of genius and two trophies back in 2017, when Mourinho led United to Europa League and League Cup triumphs.
