Former Netherlands international Rene van der Gijp insists Erik ten Hag must be allowed to breathe a new lease of life into Manchester United this summer, admitting that "players like Paul Pogba" need to be moved on.
As reported by the Manchester Evening News on Wednesday, Ten Hag is expected to leave Ajax and take charge at Old Trafford ahead of the start of next season.
The Dutchman is United's preferred candidate and was interviewed just over a fortnight ago. Ten Hag, who has been in charge at Ajax since December 2017, has overseen an excellent job in Amsterdam and has earned the opportunity to manage a big-name club in the Premier League.
