A planning application has been lodged to build 29 new detached homes in Kilmarnock. If successful, Muir Homes plans to build three, four and five bedroom developments in East Ayrshire.
The new builds will include harness solar panels for electricity generation, utilise high performance insulation and have 100 per cent low energy lighting throughout to help communities grow sustainably. The land already has planning permission for 45 affordable homes, however, the new plans will see the site reduced to 29 private dwellings with attractive greenspace and landscaping to improve amenity and biodiversity.
By reducing the number of houses, Muir Homes is taking on board the feedback raised by locals during previous planning applications.
It also sees the removal of a pedestrian access link to Hestan Place which was discouraged by those living in the existing housing.
