drug death crisis. Tracy Hadlow had gone to sleep after a gruelling 12-hour shift on a Covid ward when officers woke her up to tell her that her son Nathan had died from a drugs overdose on March 16 this year.
Devastated by Nathan's sudden passing, Tracy is now hoping to raise awareness of drug-related deaths and is urging people to have compassion towards addicts.
The 52-year-old told the Record: "On the Monday before Nathan died I had a message from police to say Nathan was in the cells.
He was found with street valium and was in court the next day. "He friends were jailed but he got off and on the Tuesday he phoned me and I sent him a message saying I was working and would phone him later."I came home and went to bed at 9.20pm as I had.
