In a video, 28-year-old mum Holly Brooke @hi_imholly complains her daughter has failed to tidy her bedroom after being given many chances and so she is resorting to punishment. "She is a pre-teen, she knows how to clean," Holly says. "We have trained her to clean and I have detail cleaned her room multiple times – she just chooses not to."She had a deadline today of 12 o’clock and here she is outside playing instead."The mum films her daughter having fun with friends outside and then shows herself and her partner packing up the young girl's possessions, which are strewn around the bedroom floor."I know this will probably p*** a couple of Gen Zs off, but this is how we’re doing it in my house," she says.Holly says she has taken away her daughter's makeup and clothes and will remove the choice of what she gets to wear every day as part of the punishment.Also, many of her daughter's toys will be "sorted through" and gotten rid of, she says.The mum explains: "I’m going to be picking out one outfit a day for her to wear and she has to wear it and that’s about it."She’ll get her stuff back in stages and I’m going to go through most of her toys and get rid of a lot of them."Until then this is how it’s going to be because I’m tired of speaking over and over again about cleaning and she just doesn't."The video was "liked" more than 4million times and many parents supported the idea and said it taught displine, while others said it showed a lack of boundaries.One viewer said: "Did you ever question why your kid might have her room so strewn like this?
