A man has been banned for two years from part of a town after attempting burn down a block of flats. Terry Wilson, of no fixed address but from Macclesfield, was handed a Criminal Behaviour Order appeared at Chester Crown Court.

As a result of the order the 56-year-old is barred from entering the area covering Maplewood Flats, Macclesfield, and its car park for the next two-years.

Cheshire Constabulary say police applied for the order following repeated reports of anti-social behaviour and arson, with Wilson attempting to start fires within the Maple Flats apartment complex in the Maple Avenue area of Macclesfield.

If Wilson breaches the order he will be committing a criminal offence which could result in recall to prison or fine. "I hope the granting of this CBO can provide some reassurance to residents in the area and will deter Wilson's behaviour in the future.
