Lord Bath dead from coronavirus as tributes paid to Longleat Safari Park owner

Tributes have been paid to Lord Bath, the owner of Longleat Safari Park, who has died from coronavirus aged 87. The eccentric zoologist Alexander Thynn, the 7th Marquess of Bath, was admitted to the Royal United Hospital in Bath on March 28, his family said.

Longleat, the estate and safari park that is the ancestral seat of the Marquess of Bath, confirmed the death in a statement on Facebook.

It said: "It is with the deepest sadness we have to announce Lord Bath has died at the age of 87. "Alexander Thynn, 7th Marquess of Bath, passed away on Saturday, 4th April. "He was admitted to the Royal United Hospital in Bath on 28th March where it was confirmed he had the coronavirus. "The family would like to express their great appreciation for
