Harry Maguire has been targeted by jeers and chants by Leicester fans at Old Trafford. The Manchester United captain was on the receiving end of boos during England’s friendly match with the Ivory Coast midweek - and now at Old Trafford, the same is happening again.
The chant coming from the stands during the goalless first half of the match was: “‘F*** off, Maguire. We don't need him, we have Soyuncu,’ the Leicester fans chant".Leicester supporters have not forgotten how Maguire left them for £80m.
Maguire, who was instrumental in United’s runners-up place last season ad well as England’s Euro 2020 final place, has been on the receiving end for his mistakes on the pitch this campaign, particularly with heavy criticism stemming from social media.And this has manifested in large boos emanating from the crowd during recent games.He moved from Leicester to United in 2019 and he’s endured a mixed spell for the Red Devils ever since.
