Harry Maguire before the routine 3-0 win over the Cote d’Ivoire at Wembley on Tuesday night. Maguire’s name was met by a chorus of boos from the crowd when it was announced pre-match, while all of his team-mates’ got a cheer from supporters.
The defender has endured a difficult season for Manchester United, but has retained the support of Gareth Southgate with England.
The centre-back was a key player in the England team which reached the semi-finals of the 2018 World Cup and the final of Euro 2020.
On the pitch, Maguire put in a solid performance against Cote d’Ivoire, who were blown away by goals from Ollie Watkins, Raheem Sterling and Tyrone Mings.
