Fellow nominee “The Queen of Basketball” was distributed by New York Times Op-Doc while Netflix is behind three of the nominated short docus: “Audible,” “Lead Me Home” and “Three Songs for Bashir.”“When We Were Bullies” premiered at the 2021 Sundance Film Festival, where it was nominated for a jury prize.

Happiest Season, directed by Clea Duvall, which is one of the first in the genre and it’s well overdue.The film follows the story of Kristen’s character Abby who plans to propose to her girlfriend Harper played the incredible Mackenzie Davis while attending a big holiday party at the home of Harper’s family.However, her plans run aground when she realises that Harper isn’t out to her family. Not ideal!Kristen and Abbey aren’t the only big names in the film, they will also be joined by Schitt’s Creek creator and star, Dan Levy.

Christmas movies are a dime a dozen in Hollywood, even if the recent influx of them has been lighter than usual. This year, however, we have a very promising new one in Happiest Season, the latest flick from actor turned filmmaker Clea Duvall. A vehicle for Kristen Stewart that’s a holiday themed romantic comedy? Yes please. Throw in that the cast also includes a who’s who of talented actors and actresses, as well as a genuinely charming vibe, and there’s a lot to love here. We all need things to look forward to, and this Thanksgiving, we’re getting a Christmas movie that can provide just that, as evidenced by this Trailer that just dropped today.
