Kate Middleton decided to “cut off” her friend who organised her 21 st birthday party on the same day as hers, a royal expert has claimed.
Kate’s parents, Carole and Michael pulled out all the stops to mark the occasion for their eldest daughter and in June 2003 – six months after her actual birthday – when they organised a big 1920s themed party and sit-down dinner.One of the guests was Kate’s new secret boyfriend Prince William, the Daily Mirror reports.
But the special day was almost ruined by one of Kate's friends Virginia – also known as Ginny. According to royal expert Katie Nicholl, Ginny decided to host her 21st party on the same day as Kate’s.
Nicholl spoke to some of the couple’s friends about the party for her book, Kate: Our Future Queen, who said: "It caused a real divide and a bit of social rift.
