Josh Rock remaining grounded but says world championship spot would be 'life changing'

darts' hottest young prospects, but Josh Rock is keeping his feet firmly on the ground.The 20-year-old from Northern Ireland has good reason to get carried away, too, after a magical start to life in the PDC.In January, Rock beat off competition from hundreds of fellow players to claim the darting equivalent of Willy Wonka's golden ticket - a PDC tour card.Since then, he has gone on to win two Development Tour events - losing a third in the final - to establish himself as one of the game's most dangerous young talents.But Rock isn't taking any notice of those talking him up on social media and says the achievement of earning a tour card was a dream in itself.

He told Daily Star Sport: "It was massive getting a tour card - a dream come true. It was in my head that this was the right time to go for it, so I did!"Winning a tour card is one thing, but building on it and winning tournaments is something else - not that Rock has had much trouble with it.

He has made an instant impact on the Development Tour - winning two events - and currently tops the Order of Merit ahead of the likes of Bradley Brooks, Keane Barry and Lewy Williams.

The youngster never doubted that he could hit the ground running. "I believed I could do it straight away," he continues. "It's not that I was expecting the results, but I just played my own game and kept myself to myself.
