A young man who was stabbed in the back in a mass brawl was arrested by police after leaving hospital. The 24-year-old man was seriously injured after being attacked in Bolton Street in Bury town centre at about 5am on Sunday (March 28).
He was taken to hospital to receive treatment for a knife wound to his back. However, when he decided to leave the hospital, family members and police officers gave chase.
After catching up with the injured man, police say they arrested him on suspicion of violent disorder in connection with the brawl, which involved up to 30 people. The stabbing victim was then returned to hospital before later being de-arrested. Three men, two aged 23 and one aged 34, were arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm in connection with the stabbing.
