Charles Ingram
Charles William Ingram (born 6 August 1963) is an English novelist, computer repairman, and former British Army major who became known for being accused and convicted of cheating on the television game show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? in 2001, after winning the maximum prize of one million pounds. Following a lengthy trial at Southwark Crown Court, he was convicted on a single count of procuring the execution of a valuable security by deception. He was convicted of an unrelated insurance fraud in 2003, and ordered to resign his commission as a major by the Army Board.

Chris Tarrant’s daughter praised Michael Sheen’s performance in ITV’s Quiz after her son could not tell the difference between the two.

Four-year-old Haris Ali Khan was filmed by his mother Fia Tarrant saying “it’s grandpa” at Michael Sheen, who plays Tarrant on the series.

Speaking to the PA news agency, Ms Tarrant said Sheen was “b****y good” in the role. “Monster has never seen his grandpa on TV before so I thought I’d see what his reaction would be seeing Michael Sheen,” Ms Tarrant wrote as she tweeted the video.

The three-part series documents the cheating scandal from 2001 involving Charles Ingram, dubbed the Coughing Major, and his wife Diana.
