Charles Ingram
Charles William Ingram (born 6 August 1963) is an English novelist, computer repairman, and former British Army major who became known for being accused and convicted of cheating on the television game show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? in 2001, after winning the maximum prize of one million pounds. Following a lengthy trial at Southwark Crown Court, he was convicted on a single count of procuring the execution of a valuable security by deception. He was convicted of an unrelated insurance fraud in 2003, and ordered to resign his commission as a major by the Army Board.

Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? cheat Charles Ingram has insisted watching Quiz made him feel sick and was just as stressful as court.

The former army major was convicted of cheating ITV bosses out of the show's jackpot along with his wife Diana and fellow contestant Tecwen Whittock.

The story was retold in new drama series Quiz, with Matthew Macfadyen playing Ingram and Michael Sheen as show host Chris Tarrant.

Ingram and his wife watched Quiz religiously and tweeted along answering questions from viewers, but he's admitted seeing the story on the small screen was nerve-wracking.
