Charles Ingram
Charles William Ingram (born 6 August 1963) is an English novelist, computer repairman, and former British Army major who became known for being accused and convicted of cheating on the television game show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? in 2001, after winning the maximum prize of one million pounds. Following a lengthy trial at Southwark Crown Court, he was convicted on a single count of procuring the execution of a valuable security by deception. He was convicted of an unrelated insurance fraud in 2003, and ordered to resign his commission as a major by the Army Board.

Who Wants to Be a Millionaire host Jeremy Clarkson threw some serious shade at gameshow cheat Charles Ingram, who was found guilty of conning the ITV show in 2003, alongside his wife Diana and an accomplice Tecwen Whittock.

The trio were thrust back into the spotlight earlier this week when ITV broadcast three-part drama Quiz, which saw the gameshow's rise to popularity and the Ingram cheating scandal play out.

The highly-publicised scam saw Tecwen Whittock allegedly cough at the correct answers, helping Charles make his way to the top prize of £1million.

Jeremy, 60, was gearing up to throw his own virtual quiz on YouTube, when he made an obvious dig at Charles Ingram with a cough of his own.
