Charles Ingram
Charles William Ingram (born 6 August 1963) is an English novelist, computer repairman, and former British Army major who became known for being accused and convicted of cheating on the television game show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? in 2001, after winning the maximum prize of one million pounds. Following a lengthy trial at Southwark Crown Court, he was convicted on a single count of procuring the execution of a valuable security by deception. He was convicted of an unrelated insurance fraud in 2003, and ordered to resign his commission as a major by the Army Board.

THE Chase's Mark Labbett claims he knows of people who cheated on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? with "nods and winks" behind ex-host Chris Tarrant.

Mark - known as The Beast on the ITV quiz show - insists contestants' friends would sit behind the presenter to send secret signals.

He told the Daily Star: "I know of people who cheated on Millionaire far better than that by having ­fellow quizzers seated just behind Chris Tarrant in their eyeline." The 54-year-old made the allegations following the release of ITV drama Quiz, which focused on Charles Ingram and his wife Diana who were accused of cheating during a recording in 2001.
