Charles Ingram
Charles William Ingram (born 6 August 1963) is an English novelist, computer repairman, and former British Army major who became known for being accused and convicted of cheating on the television game show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? in 2001, after winning the maximum prize of one million pounds. Following a lengthy trial at Southwark Crown Court, he was convicted on a single count of procuring the execution of a valuable security by deception. He was convicted of an unrelated insurance fraud in 2003, and ordered to resign his commission as a major by the Army Board.

Get Me Out of Here! Charles and his wife Diana Ingram are the subject of ITV hit drama Quiz. The couple and fellow contestant Tecwen Whittock new convicted for procuring the execution of a valuable security by deception, namely the £1million prize, in 2003.

The Ingrams and their accomplice were found guilty of using an elaborate method of coughing to win the million-pound jackpot on the hit show in 2001.
