London an independent city-state says the Royal Family would have to move out of Buckingham Palace if vision comes true.Hamish Stewart, from an advocacy group called London Independence, is envisaging a London that is free from the rest of the UK.However, as an independent London, he says there will be no room for the monarchy as he tells them to “move to one of their castles outside of the city”.Hamish refers to the Brexit referendum, in which the majority of Londoners voted for the UK to stay in the EU, as one of the main catalysts around the idea of the capital becoming independent. He says an Independent London would be a “republic with a written constitution”, which would mean no more Royal Family at the helm. The advocate also suggests that the royals could put their land into a trust as they leave London.

Speaking to MyLondon, Hamish said: “The land the Royal Family owns in London could be put into a trust and they could move to one of their castles outside of the city."If Independent London is successful, it would see the creation of its own government based in the County Hall and more control over things like immigration and tax policy.Hamish says there is not a problem with the rest of the UK but the decision is simply to suggest that London is a European city and “needs to have an independent relationship with Europe”.For the latest breaking news from the Royal Family and stories from the Daily Star, sign up for our newsletter by clicking here.He added: “Since Brexit, we’ve seen increasing food prices and challenges in the labour market, which has made life for people and businesses in London all the more challenging.“London has always been a European capital and I think anyone in London understands that.
