Antonio Ferme editorNetflix has released the official trailer for the upcoming father-son drama “Concrete Cowboy,” which will begin streaming on April 2.Inspired by the novel “Ghetto Cowboy” by G. Neri and the real-life Fletcher Street cowboys, the film follows a troubled teen (Caleb McLaughlin) who is caught between a life of crime and his estranged father’s (Idris Elba) vibrant urban-cowboy subculture in North Philadelphia.

With the Black Lives Matter Movement driving for change to end police brutality in the United States and around the world, Idris Elba opened up about the importance of playing the father of a young Black teen growing up in America in the film “Concrete Cowboy”.

At first glance, the term “urban cowboy” may come across as a contradiction in terms. Those familiar with North Philadelphia, however, know that inner-city horseback riding is a real thing.

Idris Elba has signed a global multi-book deal with HarperCollins to publish a range of children's books. The actor’s book deal includes both picture books and fiction that he has developed with his writing partner Robyn Charteris.
